First Day of Video 1 Class
Today was the first day of class with Doc Chris. I am really looking forward to this class because Doc Chris will be teaching along with Mr. Jay. I think this is the best of both worlds. Each teacher has unique skills and we are learning from a variety of angles. I am really excited about this opportunity. On Tuesday we met with Mr. Jay. And as I mentioned before we are with Doc Chris today. Everyone seems excited to be in this class. Doc Chris created groups on the first day of class and my group members are the twins, Joelle and Jordan. He also named our group "The Divas". One of the reason I am taking this class is because I would like to learn more about video and production. This class is diverse in the sense that everyone is interested in taking this class for a variety of reasons. There are also different levels in video and production skills. We have students that are beginners and trying to figure out where they could best develop skills. We also have students that are at an intermediate level and others that are more advance. For group purposes this will be a good way for students to learn. This class is very hands on and self facilitating. During class Doc Chris introduced our class to his show called "Judge Doctor Chris'. During this time he puts students on trail for anything. Sometimes simply because he feels like it our because they did something wrong. Its a funny concept. Its not to bring anyone down but if anything to make everyone laugh while creating VIDEOS! On Tuesday Jay assigned homework as asked everyone to create a long take. For my long take I have decided to film the BSA executive board making cupcakes and walking out of Campion Towers. We also learned from Doc Chris that cell phones, Twitter, Google+, and Facebook are all legal in this class. The reason for this is because this is a 21st century class and we need to implement technologies into our work. We use our phones to take videos and pictures. We then take those videos and pictures and market/speak about them on Facebook, twitter, google+ etc. We also started a Facebook group for the class where we post assignments, ask questions and get messages from Doc Chris concerning class. Im really excited about this class. Great way to start my senior year. There is nothing better than teachers that genuinely care about their students and put in their best efforts to teach.
